The state Commandant of NSCDC Commander Remilekun Ekundayo
said the command will deploy more than 3,000 officers to cover all 20 local government areas to ensure a peaceful electoral process.
Remilekun disclosed this during a celebration ceremony of the immediate past state commandant, David Idowu Ojelabi held at the command's secretariat on Thursday.
She added that the NSCDC is working in synergy with other security agencies to ensure peaceful exercise.
The Commandant highlighted the Corps' proactive security measures ahead of the festive season, with officers strategically positioned in critical areas across the state.
She assured that all hands are on deck to ensure that Ogun state remains a peaceful state while emphasizing her commitment to take a bold step in enhancing his predecessor's work.
"Our core values are, safety school, disaster management, private guard company training, and others. We are going to deploy 3,150 personnel across the 20 local governments of the state and wards to ensure peace in the forthcoming election".
Meanwhile, the outgoing Commandant, Commander David Ojelabi acknowledged the support of his officers, noting that it was a good moment working with them.
He said "I came to the state as Commandant and left as Assistant Commander General, I came with Mr. Ojelabi and I left with Dr. Ojelabi. I acknowledge the support of my men for their sense of understanding towards the achievement of my administration".
Reeling out his achievements in the state, Ojelabi boasted of drastic transformation in the command while serving as the state's commandant.
"When I came , the entire premises was in blackout but we were able to provide solar. The premises were so bad and when it rains there was erosion but we worked on that.
"Office of the commandant had no air conditioner and commandant seat , but we fixed them all. We fixed the hall including the AC through Olowu's support," he added.
Also, Special Adviser on security to Ogun state governor AIG Olushola Subar (rtd) admonished commandant Remi Ekundayo to emulate the good steps of the outgoing Commandant while wishing Commandant Ojelabi success in his new assignment.
