The Bauchi State Police Command has dismantled a notorious warehouse theft syndicate operating across the city, apprehending a 23-year-old suspect in connection with the crimes.
The suspect, Ukasha Adamu, a resident of Ajiya Adamu Road in Bauchi metropolis, was taken into custody on November 11, 2024, following an investigation by the State Intelligence Department (SID).
According to a statement released on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, Adamu and his accomplices reportedly used fabricated keys to gain access to warehouses, stealing high-value goods.
Recovered items from the operation included 150 bags of parboiled rice, 43 cartons of spaghetti, 20 cartons of vegetable oil, and 42 cartons of liquid fertilizer.
The stolen goods, estimated to be worth over ₦13.25 million, have been secured by the police. Further investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate and bring them to justice.
