Senate Confirms Bridget Omolola Oloworaran as PENCOM Director General-OXYGIST

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Bridget Omolola Oloworaran as the Director General of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM).

Her confirmation followed the submission of a report by Senator Cyril Fasuyi Oluwole, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service, during a plenary session presided over by Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau.

In the report, the committee affirmed that Oloworaran met the educational and professional requirements for the role. It also highlighted that there were no objections or petitions against her nomination, emphasizing her competence to lead the agency.

Senator Fasuyi urged his colleagues to confirm the nominee without delay, allowing her to continue fulfilling her responsibilities at PENCOM.

Oloworaran, who hails from Kogi West Senatorial District, received endorsements from Senators Sunday Karimi (APC, Kogi West) and Jibrin Isah Echocho (Kogi East), who attested to her professionalism and capacity to excel in the position.

After a voice vote conducted by the Deputy Senate President, the Senate unanimously confirmed her appointment.

In his closing remarks, Jibrin Barau commended the committee for conducting a thorough screening process and expressed confidence in Oloworaran’s ability to reposition PENCOM.

“The Senate Committee, under the leadership of Senator Cyril, has done an excellent job. Oloworaran’s pedigree and competence have been affirmed, and we trust she will perform exceptionally in her role,” Barau stated.
