Ikenga Ugochinyere, representing Ideato Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has raised serious allegations against the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Ugochinyere accused the party’s National Chairman, Umar Iliya Damagum, and Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, of secretly colluding with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a strongly worded statement shared on his X handle on Friday, Ugochinyere claimed that these clandestine meetings could spell doom for the PDP if swift action is not taken. “When the national chairman and secretary of a political party meet secretly with the ruling government, it’s a clear sign that irredeemable disaster awaits that party,” he said.
He further alleged that the duo’s actions are tantamount to handing over the PDP to the APC, likening their betrayal to trading the party’s future “for a pot of porridge.” Drawing comparisons to the demise of past political parties like the ANPP and AD, Ugochinyere warned that the PDP risks an even more disgraceful end if these “political traitors” are not removed.
Calling on party stakeholders, he urged for unity and decisive action to protect the PDP’s legacy. “The time to rise and chase these shameless outlaws away is now,” Ugochinyere declared, emphasizing the need for the immediate removal of the Damagum-led executive.
