Manchester United Deny Zirkzee January Exit Amid Osimhen Swap Speculations-OXYGIST

Manchester United have firmly shut down rumors of a potential winter departure for Joshua Zirkzee, despite swirling reports linking him to a swap deal involving Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

The Dutch-Nigerian striker, who joined United during the summer transfer window, initially struggled to make an impact, scoring just one goal in 18 appearances before his recent standout performance against Everton.

Rumors gained traction following the arrival of new manager Ruben Amorim, with reports suggesting he is eyeing reinforcements to align with his tactical approach. Among the speculated targets is Napoli’s star forward Victor Osimhen, with suggestions of a possible trade involving Zirkzee.

However, transfer expert Florian Plettenberg has clarified that Manchester United have no intention of letting Zirkzee leave, whether on loan or permanently, during the January transfer window. This stance comes in the wake of Zirkzee’s brilliant performance against Everton, where he netted two goals in a commanding 4-0 victory, marking a turnaround in his form and securing Amorim’s first Premier League win at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, the speculation surrounding Victor Osimhen continues. According to Tuttosport Editor-in-Chief Guido Vaciago, any potential transfer involving the Nigerian forward in January would require approval from Galatasaray due to the terms of his loan agreement.

“Until June 30, Galatasaray’s consent is mandatory for negotiations. However, this deal might become more realistic during the summer transfer window,” Vaciago explained during an interview with Radio Capri.

Osimhen recently featured in Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw against Eyupspor, where he contributed an assist, bringing his total to three assists in the Super Lig this season.
