Pastor Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), has called for divine intervention as the solution to Nigeria’s challenges. Speaking passionately during the 34th and 35th convocation ceremonies of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Olukoya emphasized the transformative power of prayer.
“There is only one weapon that can dismantle any problem, and that weapon is prayer,” he declared. “No matter how tough the challenge, prayer can overcome it. What Nigeria needs now is divine intervention. Let God take control of our affairs because divine intervention surpasses human intellect.”
Highlighting the global state of affairs, Olukoya pointed out that humanity is increasingly facing situations that reveal its limitations. “From what is happening around the world, it’s clear that God is showing mankind their helplessness,” he remarked.
The clergyman also touched on the rising cost of education and energy, especially in private institutions. He noted that the increasing financial burden is not the fault of university proprietors but a reflection of economic realities.
“I understand the plight of the poor, having personally struggled to afford university education. My parents didn’t have the money. But the truth is, if institutions don’t pay lecturers and professors adequately, they won’t attract quality educators,” he explained.
Olukoya further elaborated on the challenges facing private universities. “Running a private university while offering salaries lower than federal institutions is unsustainable. Quality education comes at a cost, and these financial constraints are a reality we must confront.”
