Taraba Governor’s Sister Passes Away After Armed Robbery Incident-OXYGIST

Tragedy has struck the family of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas as his 44-year-old sister, Atsi Kefas, has died following injuries sustained during an armed robbery attack.

Atsi succumbed to her wounds late Monday night at a private hospital in Abuja, where she was receiving advanced medical care. The fatal incident occurred last Thursday along Kente Road in Wukari Local Government Area, when armed bandits ambushed a vehicle carrying the governor’s mother, Jummai Kefas, and Atsi.

During the attack, Atsi sustained gunshot injuries and was initially rushed to the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Wukari. She was later transferred to Abuja for specialized treatment due to the severity of her condition.

The Chairman of Wukari Local Government, Dauda Samaila Agbu, earlier confirmed the attack, describing it as "deeply troubling." He expressed his sorrow over the situation and noted the efforts made to save Atsi’s life.

While the Taraba State Government and the Kefas family have yet to release an official statement, a reliable family source confirmed Atsi’s passing to Premium Times early Tuesday morning.

News of Atsi’s death has prompted an outpouring of grief on social media. Many well-wishers have shared heartfelt condolences, offering prayers and support to the Kefas family during this difficult time.
