VP Shettima Seeks Divine Guidance for Nigeria During Hajj-OXYGIST

Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima has offered fervent prayers for Nigeria’s peace, stability, and prosperity during his spiritual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia for the lesser Hajj (Umrah).

Speaking at the Holy Mosque of Makkah (Masjid al-Haram) on Wednesday, the Vice President called upon Allah’s intervention and guidance for the nation’s leadership and citizens.

“Our prayer is for peace to prevail in our land. May Allah grant our land peace and social harmony,” Senator Shettima implored during the solemn exercise.

The Vice President also prayed for divine wisdom and virtues for Nigeria’s leaders, from the presidency to local council levels, saying, “May Allah grant our leaders—right from the President to our local councilors—the wisdom, patience, and generosity exemplified by Muhammad Rasulullah in all their dealings.”

He continued, “May Allah bless us with the insight to govern wisely and compassionately. Let there be peace, tranquility, and prosperity in our nation. This is our heartfelt prayer, and Insha’ Allah, Allah will hear and answer us.”

In other engagements, Senator Shettima’s planned bilateral meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah has been postponed to a later date.

The Vice President is set to return to Nigeria on Friday after concluding his pilgrimage. He traveled to Saudi Arabia from Dubai, where he represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the inauguration of a $315 million oil production and storage facility owned by Oriental Energy Limited (OERL).
