Shehu Sani Predicts Resistance and Global Challenges in Trump’s Second Term-OXYGIST

Former Nigerian senator Shehu Sani has described U.S. President-elect Donald Trump as a "disruptor," predicting that his second term will bring significant challenges both domestically and internationally.

Sani shared his thoughts on social media ahead of Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president of the United States.

In a post on his X account, Sani wrote:

“Mr. Trump assumes the American presidency today. A disruptor is taking charge, and it will pose a great challenge to the world.

“This term will see an American nationalist and businessman at odds with the global order. Trump is likely to pull the plug or alter the dynamics at the UN, EU, NATO, and other key international relationships.

“He will be feared, not loved, and will inevitably face resistance from both allies and adversaries. His attempts to reset everything will be the source of discomfort.”

Sani also highlighted the potential implications for Africa, expressing skepticism about any substantial benefits under Trump’s leadership.

“Africa should not expect much from Trump, just as Biden’s presidency offered little. Trump’s return comes at a time when global solidarity on universal human values must remain steadfast. Sadly, he returns without Mugabe.”
