A soldier, Nathaniel Jeremiah, has been arrested by personnel from the 7 Division at the Borno Express Terminal Park in Maiduguri for unlawful possession of ammunition.
Sources revealed that Jeremiah, who was on a welfare pass and traveling to Adamawa State, was intercepted during a routine security check while attempting to board a vehicle at the terminal.
A search of his belongings uncovered 89 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition hidden in his bag.
The soldier was promptly detained for questioning, and the confiscated ammunition has been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.
