Governor Yusuf Suspends Head of Service Over Alleged Salary Fraud in Kano-OXYGIST

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Acting Head of Service and Permanent Secretary, Establishment, Salisu Mustapha, over allegations of illegal salary deductions affecting civil servants in the state.

A statement issued on Friday by the Director General of Media and Publicity, Sanusi Bature, confirmed that Mustapha was suspended following reports of unlawful deductions and non-payment of salaries to some state workers.

To allow for a thorough and unhindered investigation, Mustapha has also been directed to step aside as Permanent Secretary, Establishment, under the Office of the Head of Service.

In his place, Mallam Umar Muhammad Jalo, the Permanent Secretary of REPA, has been appointed as the new Acting Head of Service until the conclusion of the probe.

Governor Yusuf reiterated his zero-tolerance policy for financial misconduct, stressing that anyone found guilty will face severe consequences.

Meanwhile, the Abdulkadir Abdussalam-led investigative committee has been given seven days to investigate the irregularities and present its findings.
