'I'm Mentally Alright', Portable Declares as Court Grants Him Bail with Conditions

Singer Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable has admitted that he is not insane.


Portable made the confession before Magistrate O.L Oke at the Magistrate Court sitting in Isabo Abeokuta, Ogun state on Thursday.
 
Portable arrived at the court  in the morning and subsequently arraigned  on five count-charge, borgering on assault, conspiracy, illegal possession of firearm, amongst others.


The zazoo crooner however pleaded not guilty of the charges.

The defendant’s counsel, Oluwatoyin Omomeyin Ayodele however pleaded before Justice Oke that portable be granted bail, pledging that the singer will desist from unlawful acts.


Ayodele argued before the court that Portable remains innocent until the court proves otherwise.


Her words “My Lord, I pray that you exercise patience on Habeeb Olalomi by granting him bail. This bail is for him to properly stand his trial.


“Okikiola is still innocent until the court proves otherwise. I promise that he will appear before his trial. My Lord, I promise that he will not miss any court appearance.


Responding to the prayer, Justice Oke said that the bail will be granted on conditions that Portable will not appear on the social media, foment trouble in the society, must appear before the court and must not appear late in the court.


Magistrate Oke then quizzed portable, “Are you alright? Are you sure you are mentally sound”. If you go about on social media, discussing anything, if you cause trouble in the society, your bail will be canceled. 


“You must appear before the court and don't appear late. Failure to do so, your bail will be canceled.


Portable replied “I am mentally alright" 


The Court however granted Portable bail of two million naira with two surety of likesum.


The case was however adjourned to 3rd of March for further hearing.
