Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa "Mohbad" Aloba, has broken her silence on the painful experiences she has endured since her husband’s passing.
In an emotional interview with Chude Jideonwo, Wunmi expressed her deep sorrow, admitting that she has struggled to understand why God took her husband so soon. She described feeling lost and overwhelmed by the tragedy.
Beyond grieving, Wunmi revealed that she has been receiving death threats via social media, which she believes are connected to her father-in-law’s alleged attempts to take control of Mohbad’s assets.
According to her, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has been spreading false claims and making attempts to discredit her, all in a bid to secure his late son’s estate.
She found this particularly heartbreaking, as she recalled how Joseph Aloba had been overjoyed at their wedding, only to allegedly turn against his own grandchild after Mohbad’s passing.
One of the most shocking accusations Wunmi made was that her father-in-law falsely claimed that Mohbad had wanted to harm their child, alleging that he intended to throw the baby off the Third Mainland Bridge.
“I actually feel like God cheated my husband. Why did he have to die?
We don’t feel safe. I get death threats in my DMs.
My father-in-law wants to control my husband’s property. He wants to destroy my life because of it.
When we got married, he was there, and he was the happiest. Now, he is being mean to his grandchild. He even went as far as saying my husband wanted to throw my baby inside the Third Mainland Bridge."
The ongoing controversy surrounding Mohbad’s estate has continued to spark public interest, with many demanding justice for the late singer while calling for protection for his widow and child.
