Telecommunications giant MTN has issued an apology to Nigerians following the backlash over the recent hike in its data plan prices, particularly the 15GB bundle.
In a statement released on Thursday, MTN acknowledged the frustration caused by the sudden 200% increase in the price of its 15GB data bundle, which jumped from ₦2,000 to ₦6,000.
Addressing affected customers, the company admitted to misjudging the situation and pleaded for patience.
“To our 15GB digital bundle lovers, we know you’re upset. We understand how frustrating it must have been to wake up to a 200% increase on your favorite bundle.
We could offer explanations, but honestly, that would just be stories. We admit we got it wrong.
In this season of love, please don’t stay mad at us. Forgive and forget—we truly value you, and we will keep showing how much you matter.”
While the company did not confirm whether the price would be adjusted, it assured customers that their concerns had been heard.
