Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has reaffirmed his commitment to helping Nigeria secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, declaring that he will “give everything” to make it happen.

Nigeria, the 2013 AFCON champions, currently sit 5th in their qualifying group, with just four points from a possible 12. Their upcoming clashes against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March are now must-win games if they hope to keep their World Cup dreams alive.

Osimhen, who played a vital role in Nigeria’s qualification for the 2025 AFCON, expressed his strong desire to feature at football’s biggest stage.

“You have to give everything, you know. It’s every young player’s dream to play at the World Cup, and mine is no exception,” the Napoli striker told BBC journalist Oluwashina Okeleji.

The Super Eagles have endured a rough start to their qualification campaign, failing to secure wins against Lesotho and Zimbabwe. However, with new head coach Eric Chelle now at the helm, Osimhen remains optimistic about the team’s chances.

“We’re really looking forward to the game against Rwanda to correct our past mistakes. I believe we’ll be ready,” he added.

Nigeria will face Rwanda on March 17 in Kigali before returning home to take on Zimbabwe on March 24. With Osimhen leading the charge, the Super Eagles will be aiming for crucial victories to revive their 2026 World Cup qualification hopes.
