Nigerian actor Rotimi Salami has addressed allegations that he left a movie set without completing his scenes, dismissing the claims as an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
The controversy began when actress Ogundare Fatima publicly called on Salami to return to the set. Responding via Instagram, Salami explained that he was originally booked for a two-day project by senior colleague Lekan Olatunji. However, the shoot was rescheduled multiple times, and he received ₦100,000 as a mobilization fee.
Despite the payment, Salami encountered car trouble on his way to the set in Abeokuta, which caused a delay. He further stated that due to scheduling conflicts and prior commitments in Lagos, he was unable to stay overnight after additional delays from the production team.
Refuting the production manager’s accusations, Salami asserted that the claims were an attempt to defame him. He emphasized the importance of protecting his image and encouraged his supporters to subscribe to his YouTube channel, The Salamis TV.
"This will be the last time I address this issue," he wrote. "Defaming me and publicly sharing my business mobile number for people who are unaware of the full details to call and bash me is unacceptable."
