Abeokuta North LG Chairman, Hon. Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo Reaffirms Commitment to Development

Abeokuta North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to align with the development blueprint of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun.

The Chairman disclosed this  during a Ramadan Iftar organized by the Chairman of APC Arewa Community in Ogun State, Alhaji Shehu Usman in his residence at Sabo Aboekuta , on Friday.

The council chairman emphasized the importance of dedication and hard work in governance, noting that the state already has a clear roadmap for progress.
"We already have a blueprint, when we talk about development we are just taking what the Governor is doing and we are localizing it.

"The Governor is already lighting up Ogun State , what we have done is to take the same thing in our own small place , distribute the same  idea to the 16 ward by ensuring that our Councillors that are in the constituencies are the ones who will say this are the things that we need to do next and so what we are doing is just following that blueprint" he said.
Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo revealed plans to establish a new town near the Sabo community, a project he assured would spur economic growth and enhance commerce in the area.

He expressed confidence that the project would be commissioned before the end of the year, stating, “Insha Allah, before this year is over, we are going to commission the project, and all of us will say Alhamdulillah.”

He  stressed the need for unity within the local government, particularly in Ward 9, urging all political leaders and stakeholders to work together for the common good.
“Abeokuta North can only move forward through unity. The stronger we are, the better we become. I implore all leaders in Ward 9 to work together and build a solid house for the development of our community,” he stated.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Arewa Community Political Forum in Ogun State, Alhaji Shehu Usman represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Inter-Ethnic Affairs, Prince Hadi Sani, commended Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo for his unprecedented support to the Arewa community.

He praised the chairman for appointing Idris Beita as the Special Assistant on Inter-Ethnic and Livestock Affairs, describing it as a landmark achievement.
“The chairman has done what no other chairman has done for the Arewa community in Abeokuta North.

"He has set a record, and if another chairman comes in and does not do the same, we will fight him until his tenure ends,” Prince Sani said.

Meanwhile, one of the leader in Ward 9, Hon. Wale Bello, lauded the chairman for recognizing and appointing members from the ward into key positions.

“When I look at your appointments and see that two are from Ward 9, I appreciate it. On behalf of everyone, the leaders, the Hausas, the Yorubas, and the Igbos, we say thank you, Sir. May God continue to strengthen you in all ramifications,” he said.
Also speaking, the Seriki Hausa of Egbaland, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan, expressed gratitude to the chairman for appointing Idris Beita, affirming that the Arewa community is delighted with the administration’s inclusivity.
