Nigerian singer May D has sent a clear message to fans, warning them against making comparisons between him and other artists, particularly Wizkid.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the Soundtrack crooner declared that he is a unique talent who stands apart in the music industry.
“Don’t ever compare me to anyone in this industry again!! Especially Wiz!! I’m a different breed! God’s baby,” he wrote.
This statement follows May D’s past claims that he was on the same level as Wizkid and Davido before parting ways with his former record label, Square Records.
May D shot to fame after signing with Square Records in 2011, the label owned by P-Square. However, in August 2012, he was dropped from the label, a move that he believes affected his career trajectory.
According to the singer, had he remained with Square Records, Wizkid wouldn’t have been seen as being ahead of him in the industry today.
Despite the challenges, May D remains confident in his talent, emphasizing that he is in a league of his own.
