They speculated that the President was displeased with Obasa’s rumoured interest in the 2027 Lagos governorship race, especially as Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, is also said to be eyeing the position. This narrative gained momentum, with some critics even appearing on live TV to amplify their claims. Among them was an animal scientist-turned-adversarial broadcaster, who passionately argued that Tinubu’s influence was behind the move.
However, the narrative took an unexpected turn when it became public knowledge that President Tinubu had not been informed or consulted about Obasa’s removal. In fact, reports emerged that the President was insisting on Obasa’s reinstatement. This revelation forced many critics to backtrack, with some even rallying behind the new Speaker, Hon. Meranda, in a dramatic shift of allegiance.

Conversely, if you are known for your honesty and integrity, you will be sought after when these qualities are needed.
