The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has issued a strong message to the Super Eagles, emphasizing the crucial need to secure victories in their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
In a statement sent to the players, the NFF highlighted that winning both matches is essential to keeping their qualification hopes alive. Following an executive committee meeting, the board reaffirmed its expectations, charging the team to fight for all six points in these crucial encounters.
The federation also called on Nigerians to rally behind the team, providing support and encouragement in fair and appropriate ways to boost their chances of success.
The Super Eagles will take on Rwanda’s Amavubi at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on Friday, March 21, 2025, before hosting Zimbabwe’s Warriors at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Currently, Nigeria sits in fifth place in Group C with just three points from four matches, making these fixtures a must-win if they hope to stay in contention for a place at the 2026 World Cup.
