The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure re-election in 2027, despite opposition efforts to unseat him.
In a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Enlightenment, Oliver Okpala, on Thursday, March 21, Ganduje dismissed political alliances formed by opposition parties, describing them as weak and ineffective.
“Dr. Ganduje has no fear regarding President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. Tinubu will undoubtedly win because of his outstanding performance since assuming office,” the statement read.
He further downplayed the significance of recent meetings between opposition figures from parties such as the Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), arguing that their differing political ideologies and personal ambitions would prevent them from forming a unified front.
“These are individuals with conflicting political interests who can never truly align. Their so-called gathering is nothing but an assemblage of people with no real political base,” Ganduje said.
He also advised politicians from Northern Nigeria who are eyeing the presidency in 2027 to abandon their ambitions, insisting that both the North and other regions of the country would rally behind Tinubu for a second term.
