The University of Liverpool Nigeria Alumni Network, Lagos/Southwest Zone, has honored Dr. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, with the Social Change Impact and Outstanding Grassroots Leadership Award.
The prestigious recognition was presented at a ceremony in Lagos, acknowledging his significant contributions to grassroots development, youth empowerment, and social impact initiatives.
Beyond his achievements in public service, Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo is widely celebrated for his philanthropic efforts.
As the founder of the EMAG Youth Development Foundation, he has provided full scholarships for 100 indigent undergraduates, ensuring their education from their first year to graduation.
His foundation has also organized free tuition classes for over 50,000 students, equipping them for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In his commitment to entrepreneurship and economic empowerment, Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo established The Entrepreneurial Assembly, which has nurtured 1,000 emerging entrepreneurs, helping them refine their business ideas and develop sustainable enterprises.
