The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the recovery of two additional bodies from the site of the building collapse on Oriwu Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
Spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin announced the update on Thursday morning, stating:
“Two more dead bodies were brought out of the rubble this morning.”
The tragic incident occurred at approximately 4 PM, leaving construction workers trapped under the debris. So far, 14 laborers have been rescued, while four fatalities have been recorded, with the recovered bodies deposited in the morgue.
Emergency responders continue search-and-rescue operations at the site as authorities investigate the cause of the collapse.
