A political group, Proɠressive Change Agent Initiative (PCAI), Ogun State Chapter, has declared its total and unwavering support for the 2027 Governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi in the State.
The group, which in an affiliation with the Youth Wing of Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola's Family, during a press conference made declaration of support for Senator Yayi's governorship ambition on Tuesday, held at Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
Making this disclosure, the Coordinator of the group, Ambassador. Saheed Abiola, in a statement released, stated that the group is pleased to announce its support for Senator Yayi's governorship ambition in 2027, adding that, the declaration is a trust and belief of the group towards his leadership abilities, vision and commitment to people of the state.
He, also stated the role of the group towards his senatorial campaign, where they worked tirelessly to ensure his messages resonated across the senatorial district, together with the men and women of the grassroots working day and night to ensure his vision was not only heard but also embraced.
Amb. Abiola, also added that, as the next electoral season approaches, the firm believe is that Senator Yayi is the most qualified, prepared and people-connected leader to govern the state, and his unmatched track record in public service, firm grasp of the needs of the people, and well-articulated development blueprint have inspired our members across the state.
On the group's activities towards ensuring that Senator Yayi's vision come to pass across the three senatorial districts in the state, the group's coordinator stated that the group is already mobilizing quietly, effectively and strategically.
He added, "We are rekindling our field structure, reactivating our community cells, and preparing our members to carry Senator Yayi's vision across all three senatorial districts. Our goal is to ensure that his message reaches every corner of the state, and that every eligible citizen is empowered to participate in the electoral process.
"The 2027 election is not just about politics; it is about who has the right experience, grassroots backing, governance record, and widespread public confidence to lead Ogun State into a new era. We believe without my reservation that Senator Yayi possesses these qualities, and we are honoured to stand with him again; fully, visibly, and unapologetically".
The Head of Abiola's family, Alhaji. Olamilekan Abiola, while advocating on the need to support Senator Yayi, stated that he is the best man for the job, and as a senator right now, he is well respected and also knows what he is doing.
"Another reason is this, that I am supporting him is that, he is representing Yewa and Yewa have not been the governor in Ogun State, so I say "Yewa Is Next", and when it is time for election, they will be swept aside, that it is Egbas or the Ijebus turn to lead the state, but by the grace of God, this time around, it shall be his own turn to lead Ogun State.
"So we all have to come and work together to support candidate that we can talk to, that they are going to perform, so we need someone like Solomon Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, someone that is going to perform Inshallah and definitely he is going to perform and we are ready to support him and also saying that, we have interest in supporting him", he added.
Alhaji Abiola, while also giving reasons while our democratic system of government must be protected and given much value, said, "And this democracy is something we just have to protect because a lost of lives were lost, I lost both parents in this democracy, you know it is not something easy to lose parents. I lost my mother first, she was shot in the head, as she was very steadfast on this matter, they threatened her life, and she was getting phone calls, that they will kill her and things like that.
"And she didn't aware anybody of that, and when she was killed, she was in a Mercedes Benz with a driver and the PA, she didn't aware anybody that and she was moved out of the country.
"But lives were lost in this democracy, my father too lost his life, for this democracy, he was given opportunities to sign a mandate, that he should write down the amounts he spent, and tell us how much the amount he spent and to be given back to him but he refused to accept those offers and he died there, and you know a lot of people too lost their lives", he disclosed.
In his own remarks, the former Abeokuta North Chairman, Honourable Adesina, urged everyone to register themselves for the Voter's Card Registration, because if their is no card to vote, then we will just be supporting Senator Yayi and nothing would work.
"So, I am admonishing everyone that by August 18, we should go and register for the Voter's Card Registration and by August 25, there will be In-person registration, so we need to engage ourselves in this registration purposes". He said.
