A group called Afoo Liberation Forum, (ALF) has drummed its support for Governor Dapo Abiodun for second term in office.
The chairman of the group, Waheed Jimoh, popularly known as Ameryso said that Afoo Liberation Forum is spread across all 15 political wards.
Waheed Jimoh submitted that the group comprises of passionate men who are willing to work with the leaders and think with them in the local government and the State at large.
The chairman said'' shortly after the inauguration of the present administration, ALF came into existence in supporting and projecting the image our amiable governor, prince Dapo Abiodun at all times, we also contribute our efforts to the development of our premier Local Government and since then we have been engaging in the cleaning of drainage system and filling up portholes on the major roads in our local government during environmental sanitation period.
''This 3rd year anniversary is to give glory to God in the life of our dear performing governor, prince Dapo Abiodun for all he has been doing as well as our principal for his performance, experience and humility in the chieftaincy matters in the state and to celebrate our efforts in the local government.
''Governor's inclusiveness policy, especially on youth is acknowledged and well appreciated before youths are not many in the successive administrations now we have a significant number of them in the cabinet which I also believe will extend to one of our members anytime soon, Abiodun's good developmental projects and investments in our local government informed our decisions to endorse him for second term in office" he concluded
He appreciated all the political leaders, members of the party for their presence at the event.
Meanwhile,the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs in Ogun State, Hon. Afolabi Afuape while speaking with journalist revealed that his primary objective is that governor Dapo Abiodun must come back for second term.
The Commissioner stated that his ambition to contest for house of representatives in 2023 is secondary to Dapo Abiodun's second term agenda.
Afuape hinted that he is not declaring his ambition yet, saying that his primary objective is that governor Dapo Abiodun must come back for second term.
According to him '' I am not here to declare my ambition to contest for house of representatives, honestly speaking my ambition to contest for federal house of representatives in 2023 is secondary to Dapo Abiodun second term agenda, my primary objective is Dapo Abiodun must come back to Okemosan once that one is achieved, I know that all other things can be added on it''
Afuape appreciated the group for endorsing Dapo Abiodun for second term, adding that the governor deserves it.
"I feel proud when a group can come together and think like this, probably they might have seen something good in what my principal has actually done, sincerely in Ogun state, if you look at where we started from , if you look at the indices that affected us and you put the achievements of Dapo Abiodun within that short period of time, you have no doubt that our amiable Governor is performing well, we are here today, you can see this Adigbe road completed by him, if you go to kemta Idiaba road completed , go to Fajol road to Gbonagun he has done it.
'' ALF brought themselves together, I don't even know anything about it in the last 3 years and looking at the name, Liberation because we have liberated our selves from the people that thought that without them Ogun State can not move forward. This group has done a lot of empowerments, what they did today, I didn't give them any money, they financed themselves on behalf of my principal, i am saying a very big thank you to them'' He concluded.
The chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC in Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Fagbenro commended ALF for endorsing the governor of ogun state for second term.
He maintained that the group has been projecting the image of the governor at all times, urging them to continue to support the good works of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
Former chairmanship aspirant of the local government Ogbeni Akano Yahaya Kayode (AYK )commended Dapo Abiodun's giant stride towards restructuring Ogun State.
He therefore urged the good people of Ogun state to support developmental programs of H.E Prince Dapo Abiodun come 2023.
