I will focus on four cardinal points as a monarch - Olowu of Owu Kingdom

The Olowu of Owu Kingdom Oba Saka Matemilola, has expressed that his reign as a monarch will focus on four cardinal points for development of his domain and people.

He expressed his agenda at a world press briefing on the coronation of the 14th Olowu, organized in his palace on Sunday.

First of his agenda is to ensure unity. He expressed his desire to rebuild from the start where need be and ensure that all sons and daughters see one another as one.

Second, he said his administration as Owu monarch will support Owu Sons and daughters in terms of educational attainment, empowerment, politics, health and business.

His third agenda is to ensure economic development of his people and ensure that an atmosphere where businesses strive is created.

"Companies have come from USA to say they want to establish their headquarters in Owu land"

Fourth on his agenda is the rebuilding and preservation of Owu's Tradition, History and Culture. This according to the monarch, will make Owu Sons and Daughters to see what their fore fathers achieved.

This according to Oba Saka Matemilola will be done through a team of archeologist.

"Their are lot of Chieftaincies and small family heritages that will be revived and integrated into a larger Framework."

"We are working on the strategies on how to do all these."

The king was appointed on July 2022 and went into seclusion for 90days and on Monday, 24 Oct., 2022, he received three different crowns, all community and traditional crowns.

The newly crowned monarch appreciated everyone for their support, especially the Chairman of the planning committee, Gen. Ekundayo Opaleye, rtd. 

Earlier, a member of the Coronation planning committee, Engr. Oluwatoyin Jokosenumi, said the coronation cost an excess of N100 million and the money was donated by Owu Sons and Daughters and friends.

"This activity cost Owu community an excess of N100 million. Donations were joyfully raised by friends."
