Renewed Hope: Action Plan policies across sectors, insights of Bayo Adenekan

By Matthew Sowunmi

Through his action plan and policy document Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will bring back the hope 93, which was meant to set the nation on the path of development and transformation, apart from frontally addressing the national challenges if voted into office.

A member of public affairs Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign council and Senior Special Assistant to Ogun State governor on Finance Mr Bayo Adenekan made this known while featuring on a political discussion programme on Law FM 103.9 titled 'Power Corridor' in Lagos.

Adenekan revealed that the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress is a man that loves challenges and will face the myriad of socio economic challenges facing the nation headlong adding that his records in the governance of Lagos state and development of twenty and twenty five year master plan are ready to speak for him.

The development consultant averred that the document tagged renewed hope is also a manifesto but has been named action plan because it goes a bit above a manifesto to which is just a plan of what the party and candidate want to do.

Adenekan says, "Action plan is like saying I am not waiting, I want to hit the ground running from day one, I am ready across sectors to ensure things are done properly and Nigeria is back to where it is supposed to be and that's why he has been able to say from day one we are going to build and energise our youths focusing on job and entrepreneurship.

We are going to promote manufacturing, ensure innovation (the United States of America is built on innovation), we are going to strengthen our Forex which is floppy by ensuring that we are export driven economy rather than import. We are going to feed our nation and grow our food ourselves. Let's even meet our local need before we start going for exportation. We want to feed our people, over two hundred million Nigerians."

The member of public affairs Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign council said as everyone is aware, the current administration led by president Buhari has spent the biggest and largest fund on infrastructure and this is what Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu also intend to take over and push further.

Responding to the issue of huge dept that could inherited by the next administration, the SSA believed the pedigree of the former governor of Lagos state as a master strategist and his experience would be brought to bear in carrying out a financial re engineering as also a financial engineer in which he demonstrated in the nation's commercial nerve centre he brought from a backwater state to a leading economy in Africa.
According to him, the financial engineering was deployed to increase revenue of Lagos state from paltry 600 million Naira monthly to to 8 billion Naira before leaving office in 2007 amounting to over 1000 percent.

Reacting to the issue of subsidy raised by some of the listeners, Adenekan promised seamless integration of subsidy and adoption of those things that will give succour to address the issue of subsidy removal.

Responding to another listener who claimed the presidential candidate of the ruling party is selfish, the member of public affairs Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign council said Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has built many and elevated many human capital over the years among whom are the current vice president of Nigeria, speaker of the house representatives, many governors, many ministers, both past and serving so he cannot be described as being selfish compared to other candidates who cannot point at human capital they have succeeded in building.
