Philanthropist tasks Students on sport, education at inter-house competition In Ogun

Chief Olusegun Sanyaolu, a philanthropist and the Seriki of Igbein, has exhorted students in basic schools to integrate their studies with sports, which he claims is necessary for the full development anticipated of them.

Sanyaolu made this call at the annual Inter House Sport competition of Lisabi Model Nursery and Primary School, Ita Agemo, Igbein in Abeokuta South local government area of Ogun State.

He advised the younger ones to believe in themselves, practice each and everyday and keep fit.

He said "These are the youths of tomorrow, I pray and I hope the school will continue to encourage them and we as a family also we continue to do do the best that we can within the school and far away."

He therefore commended the management of the school, parents  and others who have supported the annual event.

He added that he will continue to do what is needed to promote the proper education of the children.

Speaking about the Sanyaolu Family, Chief Olusegun said the Green House which belongs to the family is a project that  had been long in the pipeline.
According to him, the Late Balogun Egba, Chief Amos Sanyaolu, had plans and passion for the development of lgbein Community.

"Chief Amos Osodolamu Sanyaolu, was the 11th Balogun of Egbaland , during the reign of HRH. Oba Oyabade Lipede 1, Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, of blessed Memory.

"Chief Amos Sanyaolu was a very successful businessman and prominent Electrical Engineering Contractor, he established A. Sanyaolu & Brothers Ltd in 1952 (ASB Ltd) with head office in Lagos and here in Abeokuta."

The Green House was declared open, in honor and memory of the  Late Chief Amos Osodolamu Sanyaolu in order to sustain his legacy, while with it, create opportunities to further push for  development and Social upliftment of the Igbein Community. 
In her remarks, the headmistress of the school, Mrs Adeshina Maria commended the turnout of people at the event despite their various individual schedules.

She therefore appreciated Chief Modupe Sanyaolu who donated 2 brand of new trophies and jerseys to the school to make the event a glorious and colourful one.


Meanwhile, in a media chat shortly after the event, the Gbegbaaje of Igbein, Chief Modupe Sanyaolu urged the pupils not to take sporting activities for granted adding that sport is a big business in the world.

She added that Sports and education go together for the development of the mind and the body.

 "As pupils you must find the time under the supervision of your teachers to create the needed balance so that one will not suffer because of the other."
