Despite operating in Nigeria's highly competitive and challenging business environment, the company has managed to establish a strong presence within just one year and three months of operation.
Tomi Alagbe, the mastermind behind the "Rethink Group," recently spoke with the Oxygist Brand and Industry Update crew, sharing insights into how the brand was conceived.
The brand encompasses various interests, including real estate, fashion, media, and micro-finance services, all aimed at benefitting Nigerians.
Tomi, a media executive with extensive experience, previously served as the Head of Marketing for RockcityFm, the first private radio station in Ogun State, as well as the pioneer Head of Marketing for Raypower/AIT Ibadan and the pioneer Senior Manager of Sweet FM, Abeokuta. He revealed that the Rethink Group brand initially started with Rethink Homes, which aimed to restore trust in the real estate industry by ensuring transparency and integrity in the acquisition of landed properties for their customers.
"Rethink Homes stands out due to its first-class services and products, attracting Nigerians in the diaspora, particularly those in the United Kingdom, who are embracing the company's "Land Banking" product. According to Tomi, this product increases the value of landed property for clients residing abroad.
"Furthermore, Rethink Homes is committed to providing affordable and decent homes for Nigerians. The company offers landed properties in Obada, Kobape, Itori, and Mawuko near Abeokuta, as well as in Ikorodu and Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos.
"Regarding "Rethink Wears," the clothing line of the group, Tomi described it as tailored corporate wear designed to meet the preferences of customers. The company takes pride in producing male corporate wears that rival those from Europe and America, as they source top-grade fabrics from various parts of the world. Expansion plans include venturing into female corporate wear, accompanied by the acquisition of additional machinery and facilities.
"The group is also interested in supporting small businesses and has established "Rethink Pay" to provide low-interest soft loans to market women, including those who sell perishable goods such as tomatoes and peppers, as well as foodstuffs. Tomi expressed satisfaction with the positive responses from traders who have benefitted from these loans.
"Completing the subsidiary of the group is "Rethink Media," offering unique services to several radio stations in Abeokuta. Tomi emphasized that his early exposure and managerial experience in the media industry prepared him for the challenges of running an advertising agency and engaging in media buying and placement of commercials. "Rethink Media" is the first of its kind in Abeokuta, as it collaborates with advertising agencies in Lagos to source adverts for local radio and television stations. The company also engages in below-the-line advertising and designs outdoor billboards for clients.
"When it comes to managing the subsidiaries of "Rethink Brand," the CEO attributed their successes to the grace of God and his experiences working at Rockcity Fm, Abeokuta, under the leadership of Dr. Niran Malaolu and wife, Mrs Bukola Malaolu
"I have my reliable partners, Mrs.Temitope Adeniji who is Marketing/Logistics Director and Mr. Ayobami Adesina who is the company's Legal Consultant/Adviser and Non- Executive Directors who are giving us moral support to ensure the successes or achievements we recorded so far", he concluded.
