NNPP'S BOT Chairman Okays Olaposi Oginni as Legitimate Chairman in Ogun

Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, Founder and Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has reaffirmed that Comrade Olaposi Oginni remains the authentic Chairman of the party in Ogun State.

Despite the National Working Committee's (NWC) announcement on July 28th about dissolving executives at all levels, ten State Chairmen, including Oginni, disagreed with the decision, citing inconsistencies with party procedures.

In a letter directed to the State's Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, Aniebonam emphasized that Oginni's purported expulsion is null and void, as it contradicts the constitutional procedures outlined in Article 8.3(d) of the NNPP.

Aniebonam clarified that the NWC lacked the authority to take such action and that their decision goes against the provisions within NNPP's Constitution. He urged all NNPP members in the State to foster peace and collaborate with Oginni's leadership.

Regarding the impersonation charges against Oginni, which the Court dismissed as a "family matter," Aniebonam dismissed them as baseless and encouraged everyone to disregard them completely.

The letter reads: "I write in my capacity as the Founder and Chairman of The Board of Trustees of NEW NIGERIA PEOPLE'S PARTY (NNPP) to Confirm to you that Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday remains the recognized and authentic Chairman in Ogun State.

My attention was drawn to the Purported Expulsion of the Chairman of Ogun NNPP and The Federal High Court ruling that returned the matter back to the party as" a family matter".

It added "Firstly, the Purported Expulsion was null and void due to it's inconsistency with the Constitution of NNPP procedures of Expulsion! Article 8.3(d) clearly stated that Only the Convention or NEC shall have Power to Expel a member from the Party.

The Purported Expulsion of our Chairman in Ogun State in person of Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday was null and void because the NWC was not the right organ of the party that could take such action".

The letter indicated "Recognizing that this Action of NWC was inconsistent with the provisions of NNPP's Constitution shall to the extent of such inconsistency be null and void.

In the same Vein, the Judgement of Federal High Court of Abeokuta refers explicitly that the matter was "a family matter" by the Provision of Article 12.3.1(a) I am The Founder of the Party and the Life Member of the Board and The Chairman of Board of Trustees.

Consequently, the Constitution in Article 12.3 .4(a) and (f) empowered me as the CONSCIENCE of the Party to "Call to Order" any Officer of the Party which conducts fall below the norms and to meditate in disputes".

The letter stated "Therefore, as The Father of NNPP family, I'm reiterating that Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday remains the Authentic Chairman of NNPP in Ogun State and hereby direct all NNPP family in Ogun State to embrace peace and cooperate with the State Chairman.

Hence, the case of impersonation against Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday is a ruse and should be discountenance in entirety".

"Having instances of braking, stealing and malicious damage still pending and hanging on some accused at the state magistrate Court, I am also using this opportunity to request for the continued protection of lives and properties of NNPP in Ogun State. It is my hope that they all shall realise that they are brothers and sisters from Ogun State to show love among each other and live in peace. I did invite them to Lagos annex office of the party to resolve their alleged transactional issues but the complainants refused. I am ever ready to receiving all of them to resolve this matter amicably", the letter concluded.
