The project manager who is also the former Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun State on Job creation and youth empowerment Abiola Odetola stated this during the presentation of certificate to the beneficiaries held at the June 12 cultural centre, kuto Abeokuta.
Odetola said that the comprehensive training program, spanning six days, has been nothing short of inspirational and It's designed to empower the 500 beneficiaries with practical skills in solar panel installation, enabling them to participate in the renewable energy revolution.
He added that training is Divided equally among Ogun Central, Ogun East, and Ogun West.
Odetola stressed that the selection process was rigorous, ensuring that the most deserving candidates were chosen in which the dedication and enthusiasm of the selected participants have been palpable since the first day of training.
According to him " The program was completely free and we feed our participants every day. It has been a wonderful moment for them. We have been a brothers to ourselves and been having fun together."
He highlighted that the initiative attracted a diverse group of participants, including those with backgrounds in fields like law, proving that young people are eager to diversify their skills when given the opportunity.
His words " The world is going green and every opportunity attached to it must be exploited for the benefit of our young people.
Odetola advised the beneficiaries to embrace these skills as an integral part of their lives to overcome their fears of poverty.
The beneficiaries received certificates of participation and starter packs to empower them to apply their newfound knowledge.
Speaking with Oxygist, a beneficiary of the training Olatunji Adeleke expressed his gratitude and described the training as a valuable addition to his life.
He added that the acquired skills have provided him with a second chance to become a better person.
Adeleke extended his appreciation to the government for the opportunity and encouraged fellow beneficiaries to remain hopeful for brighter days ahead.
