Commissioner for Rural Development, Honourable Olufemi-Ilori Oduntan, hinted during a bidding exercise for contractors on the project at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, imploring all the contractors to take the outcome in good faith.
Mrs. Ilori-Oduntan noted that the execution of the project is to the benefit of all and sundry and the completion of the roads would further enhance transportation of agricultural produce from local communities to the urban centers which would reduce farmers' loss to the barest minimum.
She assured the bidders that due diligence would be followed in ensuring the best bidders were selected.
In his contribution, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Adetayo Adewale in the Ministry, said the roads when completed would ensure adequate food security and reduce rural-urban drift which had plagued the country over time.
Earlier in his opening remark, the Project Coordinator, RAAMP, Engr. Muritala Adekunle said the bid was made open to avoid conflict of interest, while transparency remains their watchword in the selection process.
Some of the roads bided are Idofin Bode Ase, Agosasa-Idolorisa, Sigo Baido, Tapona, Ibu Junction, Ipakinmore, Itebu, Ago-Isobo, Mamu-AbaPanu Road all the roads cut across the three senatorial districts of the State.
