Olowu of Owu lays foundation for construction of modern health facility, others in Ogun

In a landmark event, the Olowu of Owu kingdom, HRM Oba Saka Matemilola, has laid the foundation for a transformative development initiative in Oke-Ogun Sabo community, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The monarch spearheaded the commencement of the construction of a modern health facility, a block of classrooms, and an ultra-modern mini-market, signaling a new era of progress for the community.

Expressing his vision for the project, the Olowu highlighted the potential economic growth and enhanced quality of life for the community. 
He emphasized the convenience the mini-market would bring, reducing travel time for residents and stimulating local economic activity.

The monarch also underlined the positive impact on property values, foreseeing a rise in land costs as the community develops with essential amenities such as schools, health centres, and markets.

 The Olowu's priority is to ensure the well-being of the community, focusing on aspects such as employment, economy, education, and security.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the local Government Hon Bayo Ayorinde applauded the monarch's commitment to grassroots development and highlighted the government's efforts to deliver tangible benefits to the people. 

He acknowledged the ongoing projects within the Abeokuta North Local Government, ranging from health care facilities to road infrastructure, showcasing the administration's dedication to overcome financial challenges.
Ayorinde detailed some completed projects, including a standard healthcare facility at Ikija, the renovation of a health centre at Mile 2, construction of toilet facilities at Ikija, and the grading of rural roads. 

He also outlined ongoing projects like the construction of a shopping mall at Olomore Market, Ita Oshin, and Lafenwa Market.
Acknowledging the importance of community support, Ayorinde called for cooperation to elevate the newly initiated project to a commendable level.

 He expressed gratitude to the Legislative Council members, the executive team, and career officers for their relentless efforts towards the success of past and ongoing initiatives.

Meanwhile, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde,the  All Progressive Congress(APC)  Chairman in Abeokuta North Local Government, highlighted the community's lack of a hospital and emphasized the potential benefits of having a health centre in the area. 

She commended the council chairman for the project and pray for its success.

In his remarks, the former Chairman of the local government, Barrister Habeeb Ajayi, stressed the need for cooperation in development efforts. 
He called on the community, councilors,  chairman, and civil servants to work together for the success of the project.

 Ajayi emphasized the importance of obtaining government consent for development initiatives and urged stakeholders to avoid unauthorized development.
