NSCDC Promotes 640 officers to new ranks in Ogun

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State has promoted 640 officers of  service to various ranks in the command .

The decoration ceremony, was held  at the state command's cooperative building in Owu Dekudu village off Kobape road in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The promoted officers included Four Deputy Commandants of Corps (DCC), 20 Assistant Commandants of Corps (ACC), 35 Chief Superintendents of Corps (CSC), 62 Superintendents of Corps (SC), 123 Deputy Superintendents of Corps (DSC), 302 Assistant Superintendents of Corps I (ASC I) and 94 Assistant Superintendents of Corps (ASC II).

In his opening remarks, the state commandant David Ojelabi, described the promotion as an award of excellence, dedication, hard work, loyalty and discipline.

He charged the newly-promoted officers with maintaining the greatest standards of professionalism, integrity, and national service.

According to him “ We want to congratulate all the newly promoted officers who have been promoted to the next professional status of their lives.

“ To whom much is given much more is expected so, this is a call to rise to service and we need more from them especially in the area of executing and maintenance . They should rise up to their responsibilities and challenges .

“ A new elevation translate to a new responsibility on their shoulders. You are all expected to be on your toes in order to perform and synergize with other agencies to see  that Ogun state and Nigeria as a whole is peaceful for everybody.

While extending his sincere congratulations to the officers, Special Advisor on Security to the Governor of Ogun State, AIG Olusola Subair (Rtd.) noted that their promotion was a well-deserved accolade and a reflection of devotion, hard work, and commitment to the values of the NSCDC.

He however urged the promoted officers to step up their efforts to fight crime and improve public safety in Ogun State.

Speaking to Sodiq Owolabi, a former chief security of corp who was promoted to assistant commandant, thanked the leadership and pushed his colleagues to take on greater responsibility.

“ Formerly as the chief security of corp but today I am the assistant commandant of Corp. 

“ I feel honored and my appreciation goes to the commander general in the person of Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi who gave us this opportunity to be among the cadet .

“ I'm taking this opportunity to implore my colleagues and those coming behind to put more effort dedicated, honest .
