This attempt followed a similar incident where fellow artist Chike made headlines by surprising a critic with a generous N1 million after being trolled online.
The situation unfolded when a troll accused Chike of only rising to fame in the Nigerian music scene due to his collaboration with the late singer Mohbad on the hit track "Egwu." The song, which garnered over 49 million views on YouTube, was a massive success. In response to the criticism, Chike called the troll "hungry" and unexpectedly sent him N1 million.
Inspired by this, another X user, @gunzify0, decided to try the same tactic with Adekunle Gold, tweeting, "@adekunleGOLD you dey craze..", hoping for a similar outcome.
