Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, will square off against the United States in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics. This marks a historic achievement for Nigeria as the team has secured their first-ever spot in the last eight of the event.
D’Tigress earned their place in the quarter-finals with a thrilling 79-70 victory over Canada in their final group game on Sunday. Initially, they topped Group B with five classification points. However, their ranking shifted to third place after Australia defeated France 79-72 in the other group match.
