A BRT bus was involved in a lone accident at Bolade, Oshodi, on Tuesday afternoon, October 8, causing significant traffic congestion in the area. The incident, which occurred when the bus veered off and crashed into the median separating the service lane from the main carriageway, was confirmed by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
Videos from the scene show a long line of yellow commercial buses piling up behind the wrecked BRT, with traffic quickly building up in the already busy Oshodi area.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), LASTMA announced that a tow truck operator had been contacted to remove the crashed bus from the road. "Our officers are on the ground to ensure smooth traffic flow and help manage accessibility," the agency added.
