The Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola has appointed the CEO of Olageospatial Global Investment Company (OGIC), Surveyor Fashina Olajide, as the new Alakoso of Owu-Ogbe.
The installation ceremony took place at the Olowu's Palace on Friday, where Oba Matemilola entrusted Fashina with the role, honouring his contributions and commitment to the Owu community.
During an interview with newsmen , Fashina expressed gratitude to the Olowu and acknowledged the weight of the responsibility.
“The Kabiyesi, Professor Saka Adelola Matemilola, found me worthy of this position, and I am truly elated. I give glory to Almighty God,” he said.
Fashina pledged to uphold the values of Omoluabi and to bring his extensive knowledge and experience to benefit Owu-Ogbe, particularly in real estate, private security, and youth mentorship.
He also emphasized the importance of utilizing his foundation to reach out to the less privileged.
"I'll try to uphold to that value of Omoluabi and also after studying far and wide and also to bring the contribution of knowledge and also business down to Owu so that we can help our youth in the little we do in the area of real estate, private security, mentorship and also using our foundation to reach to the less privileged.
"The kabiyesi, Professor Saka count me worthy for selecting me to be the Alakoso Owu-Ogbe, I'm really elated and I give glory to the Almighty God."
The wife of the new Alakoso Owu-Ogbe Engineer Yetunde Fashina, highlighted the significance of her husband’s new role in fostering unity within the community.
“As we all know, the Alakoso is the head of a community. This position will help us bring people together and work collaboratively for the community’s growth.
"Community togetherness is crucial, as it allows everyone to contribute to a common goal.”
