Ondo SDP Deputy Governorship Candidate Defects to APC-OXYGIST

In a recent political shift, Mrs. Susan Gbemisola Alabi, former deputy governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). Mrs. Alabi’s decision to switch parties followed her resignation from the SDP, citing “irreconcilable differences” with her previous running mate, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye.

Mrs. Alabi was warmly welcomed into the APC fold by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the APC candidate for the upcoming November 16 governorship election, during a campaign tour in Akoko North West Local Government Area.

In his address, Governor Aiyedatiwa assured residents that the 2025 budget would be crafted to ensure equitable development across all regions of Ondo State. "This budget will be structured to bring growth and development to every corner of our state,” he emphasized, noting plans to improve infrastructure and essential services in Akoko North West.

Additionally, local monarchs expressed their endorsement of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy, promising strong voter support. Speaking on behalf of 27 traditional rulers, the Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Olasehinde Ojo Adetona, pledged unwavering backing for the APC.

The governor’s campaign also made stops at Oke Irun, where he encouraged supporters to stay united and committed to ensuring an APC victory. In Oke Agbe, the local government’s headquarters, Aiyedatiwa highlighted his administration's commitment to security, infrastructure, and agriculture, vowing that these areas would be central to his planning and resource allocation for the future.
