Sevilla Duo Iheanacho and Ejuke Arrive at Super Eagles Camp as Eguavoen Welcomes 23 Players for Libya Showdown-OXYGIST

All 23 Super Eagles players invited for Nigeria’s vital CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya have arrived at camp.

Sevilla stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke joined the Super Eagles camp in Uyo on Wednesday morning, giving caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen a significant boost ahead of the crucial clash on Friday.

Both Iheanacho and Ejuke featured in Sevilla’s 1-0 win over Real Betis on Sunday, although Iheanacho was an unused substitute while Ejuke played the full match. The duo missed Tuesday's training session due to travel but are expected to join the team for Wednesday’s session after some rest.

In addition, Fenerbahce winger Bright Osayi-Samuel, who also missed Tuesday’s training, is expected to join the squad as they ramp up preparations for the must-win encounter against Libya.

Libya’s national team, the Mediterranean Knights, arrived in Uyo early Wednesday morning after a long journey from Tripoli via Abuja. Led by newly appointed head coach Nasser Al-Hadhiri, the Libyan side is looking to bounce back after a disappointing start in the qualifiers. They are set to train in Uyo in preparation for Friday’s game.

With four points from their first two matches, the Super Eagles are aiming to build on their strong start in the qualifiers. The reverse fixture will take place just four days later in Benghazi, Libya, making both matches critical for securing a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
