President Bola Tinubu has officially resumed his duties at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after returning from a two-week vacation in Europe. His first official meeting was with the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji, as disclosed by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
Sharing the news on X (formerly Twitter), Onanuga posted a photo of the president back at his desk, noting, “President Bola Tinubu is back in action this morning after his two-week vacation. His first meeting was with FIRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji.”
President Tinubu had traveled to the United Kingdom and France on October 2 for a working vacation, which doubled as part of his annual leave. He returned to Nigeria two days ago, landing at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at around 7:20 pm, where he was warmly welcomed by senior members of his administration.
Now back to his official duties, the president’s early focus appears to be on strengthening Nigeria's tax and revenue systems, with his prompt engagement with the FIRS Chairman underscoring the importance of economic matters as a priority on his agenda.
