Olajumoke Orisaguna, famously known as the viral bread seller discovered by photographer TY Bello in 2019, has spoken out about her struggles and alleged exploitation by industry figures.
During an emotional conversation on the Honest Bunch podcast, Olajumoke revealed that many of the opportunities she participated in were unpaid, despite public perceptions to the contrary.
Recalling her experience with popular singer Harrysong, she disclosed that she wasn’t compensated for appearing in his Chacha music video. “I went to Harrysong’s house in Lekki and danced in his video. He claimed in a statement that he paid me ₦400,000, but that’s false. I did it for free. He didn’t pay me anything,” she said.
Olajumoke also recounted other instances where she felt undervalued and underpaid. She mentioned receiving just ₦200,000 for a project that required international travel. “They took me to South Africa for work and paid me ₦200,000. They used me for work and didn’t pay me properly,” she added.
