Barcelona Prioritizes Luis Diaz Transfer Ahead of Summer Window-OXYGIST

Barcelona has set its sights on Liverpool winger Luis Diaz as their primary target for the summer transfer window, aiming to strengthen the left flank with a high-caliber signing.

Despite ongoing financial struggles and salary cap restrictions, the Catalan club remains determined to secure at least one marquee signing. While Sporting Director Deco has downplayed expectations, the club’s focus has shifted towards Diaz after other potential targets became unattainable.

Barcelona initially considered Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, but both options are now off the table. Moves for Leroy Sané and Mohamed Salah are also unlikely due to their age, while AC Milan’s Rafael Leão remains a dream signing. However, his €100 million price tag and inconsistency have made the move less feasible.

This leaves Luis Diaz as the most viable option. At 28 years old, the Colombian winger is in his prime and possesses the skill set that aligns well with Barcelona’s playing style. He is currently under contract with Liverpool until 2027, but reports suggest that renewal talks have stalled, which could work in Barcelona’s favor.

While Diaz has previously expressed interest in playing for Barcelona, the club's ability to fund the transfer remains a major hurdle. Any potential deal will likely depend on player sales and financial restructuring to comply with La Liga’s strict financial regulations.
