Maritime University and NCDC Bills: Further Proof of President Tinubu’s Commitment to Equity and Development

By Rinsola Abiola

Following years of dedicated advocacy, President Bola Tinubu has now signed the Nigerian Maritime University Bill into law. This not only addresses longstanding aspirations within the Niger Delta, but also underscores the Renewed Hope Administration’s commitment to advancing specialized education in the maritime sector.

The establishment of the Nigerian Maritime University is set to create numerous job opportunities for residents of the Niger Delta and beyond. It will serve as a beacon for specialized maritime education, equipping our youth with the skills necessary to excel in this vital industry.

The institution is expected to stimulate economic growth, enhance learning in maritime studies, strengthen regional stability, and elevate Nigeria’s status in global maritime affairs.

The President has further demonstrated his steadfast commitment to fostering equity and balanced regional development by enacting the bill establishing the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC). The NCDC is poised to play a pivotal role in driving infrastructural development, fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life for citizens in North-Central states.

The Commission will be a catalyst for sustainable growth and prosperity in the region.

The collaborative efforts of the National Assembly and all stakeholders who contributed to the realization of this vision should be applauded, as their dedication and partnership have been instrumental in bringing these initiatives to life.

As we embark on this new chapter, it is essential that the people of the North-Central region strive to actively engage with the Commission, ensuring that its programs and projects reflect the needs and aspirations of their communities.

Together, we can build a nation where our hopes are renewed and a more equitable, prosperous Nigeria for all.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
