Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa, has urged Nigerians to show support and compassion toward singer Asake, rather than condemning him.
Her statement comes in response to allegations from Asake’s father, who accused the singer of negligence.
Taking to Instagram, Amusa reflected on Asake’s decision to tattoo his face, suggesting it could be a sign of rebranding or a way of masking deep emotional pain.
"His childhood remains a mystery—some say his father was absent, others claim his mother was harsh. But I won’t judge a father who left or a mother who did what she could. What matters is that Asake deserves love, not public scrutiny."
The actress emphasized that success and wealth do not erase the scars of parental rejection.
"A child raised on 'I love you' moves through life differently than one who hears, 'I want nothing to do with you.' Some wounds money cannot fix—only deep, intentional healing can."
Rather than adding to the criticism, Amusa said she chooses to send love to the singer.
She also used the opportunity to encourage parents to be present in their children’s lives, stressing that a child who feels loved at home has less to prove to the world.
"To parents: Be the voice your child hears before the world tries to define them. A child who feels truly seen and loved at home grows up with confidence. As a victim of such circumstances, I can relate. I wish Asake well."
Her post has sparked conversations about the importance of childhood experiences in shaping individuals, especially in the entertainment industry.
