Obaship tussle:Family send SOS message to Gov Abiodun, Obasanjo, Alake of Egbaland

The Descendants of Ogunmakin has appealed to Gov Dapo Abiodun as well as the former president,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the paramount ruler of Egbaland,Oba Micheal Adedotun Gbadebo to come to their aide as a foreigner is about to be installed as the Olu of Ogunmakin.

The Ogunmakin family led by Chief Adeyemi in a press conference held on Wednesday at Penpushing Corporate office,at Leme Abeokuta, Ogun State said that the foreigner Ayinde Busari who claimed to be the son of the third wife of Pa Bello Ogunmakin declared that the third wife did not give birth to any child for their grandfather but he (Busari) was a forster son to Iyaloja of Ogunmakin community who adopted some children during her lifetime.

The Descendants who from Obafemi Owode Local Government claimed to have written several letters to the office of the state governor since July 2023 till March 2024 noted that they have always express numerous ugly incidents within Ogunmakin town, including false and unfounded claims being put together by some usurpers and unrelated individuals to the vacant stool, which included the likes Ayinde Busari but all their complaints were disregarded without any attention accorded.

While setting the record straight,Chief Adeyemi noted that although Pa Ogunmakin went for war at Ibadan but did not marry neither brought a woman from war in Ibadan.
He hinted that all his three wifes Ekitiba, which is the first wife was the only woman who gave birth to three surviving children ,which are male and a female.

"To set the record straight and in contrary to Ayinde Busari's press release of 23/5/2024 via mouthpiece,we must now declare that pur progenitor's full name was Bello Ogunmakin not Bisiriyu Ogunmakin. His first ever child from his first wife-Ekitiba,was in fact male-Busari Ogunwemimo Ogunmakin not Omonayajo. It was Busari Ogunwemimo who begat Surakatu Olawunmi Ogunmakin (who became Baale Orile Ogunmakin in 2001-2014)duly installed with certificate,by Kabiyesi Osile and was the only suitably qualified incumbent Baale Ogunmakin land, due to be elevated to Oba in 2010,when it was gifted to late Oba Sodiya.

Pa Bello Ogunmakin a warlord, his dad and Grandad from Agbole Asipa Adekalu (Oke Ago Owu) while his mum was from Amororo, Ikereku. Infact Pa Bello engaged in fierce battle with the Ibadans for 9years and non of his three wives were from Olounde nor Oniturupu village as mentioned in Busari's video".

Emphasising that the same Busari had earlier contested with the late monarch and was disqualified following discovery that he was not indigene of the community, expressing shock that it was same disqualified candidate, some people are pushing out to be traditional ruler of the community.

"We can tell you that Ramoni Busari popularly called ‘Jawe’ is non-indigene. He is from Ibadan, and this fact is on record. He once attempted to contest with the late Oba Sodiya, and was disqualified when it was discovered he is from Ibadan”, they emphasized.

“The records are even there that this same Busari was questioned during the earlier exercise which eventually brought in Sodiya as traditional ruler of Ogumankin, he confessed he is from Ibadan, with his parents’ residence in Oluyole local government”, the family stated.

However the aggrieved family disclosed that following the ugly development, they had written a petition to the Osile Oke-Ona Oba Adedapo Tejuoso and Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo but nothing is being done.

The complainants passionately called on the Egba traditional council to wade into the issues, to avoid loss of the community to Ibadan, as in the case of Bakatari, which is Egbaland, and now being controlled by Ibadan

“We have petitioned Osile Oke-Ona, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso and Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, and the Ogun State Government calling on them to come to our aid. It is our family turn to produce next traditional ruler of Ogunmakin, a village founded by our forbear. Don’t allow politics to lose our community to Ibadan, as also in the case of Bakatari, Egbaland being controlled by Oyo state.”

While clearing that the 52 villages under Ogunmakin's territory were not formed by any alliance but Ogunmakin was a stand alone entity. He noted

He however call on authorities to wade into the matter urgently by setting up an impartial panel of investigators to demand full and transparent records and videos of the screening of 14/12/2023 to be accurately handed i ,to unveil the truth.

Adding that allowing an unrelated total-Ibadan indigene to head Ogunmakin would be a true definition of injustice and when injustice is exposed.
