Lagos police have confirmed the tragic killing of Demola Akinloye, the son of Oba Tijani Akinloye, the Ojomu of Ajiran land. The incident occurred on Sunday around 12:30 p.m. in the Chevron Drive area of Lekki, Lagos.
Akinloye was reportedly attacked by four gunmen while driving his Toyota Corolla. The assailants shot and stabbed him, leading to his death at the scene.
Lagos police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday that the police received a distress call about the incident.
“The scene was visited, and one expended cartridge was recovered. The body has been moved to a morgue in Ajah for preservation and an autopsy,” Hundeyin said.
He also mentioned that the case will be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti-Yaba for further investigation.
The killing has sparked panic in the community, causing many residents to flee the area.
