Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has been granted bail by a court in Abuja.
The artist had been in police custody since November 27, following his re-arrest in Owerri, Imo State, for allegedly jumping bail.
Speed Darlington was initially arrested in October after a petition was filed against him by fellow musician Burna Boy. He was granted bail at the time and was expected to return for further questioning but failed to comply, leading to his subsequent re-arrest.
Providing an update on the case, Speed Darlington’s lawyer, Stan Alieke, announced on social media this morning that the court had granted the singer bail, marking a turning point in the ongoing legal proceedings.
